The Friends of Friendship Park invite all people of good will to join us in San Diego and Tijuana this summer to celebrate the past, present, and future of Friendship Park. Events will be held on both sides of the border on Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18, to mark the 53rd  Anniversary of First Lady Pat Nixon's historic 1971 visit to establish what she called "International Friendship Park."

 Friendship Park – Past, Present & Future -- REGISTRATION CLOSED

OJO!  Registration is closed for this all-day event, but you can still buy a $20 ticket to enjoy a unique taco lunch (birria  for meat-eaters, soy ceviche for vegetarians) and also see a unique photographic exhibit of the border wall at Friendship Park, compliments of Maria Teresa Fernandez.

1:00 PM WORKSHOP: Designing a Friends of Friendship Park Archive - A SD/TJ World Design Capital Event 

  • What: Friends of Friendship Park Board Members Diane Keeling and Katie Santos invite you to join them in launching the design of an "archive" of the Friends of Friendship Park

  • Why: A community of like-minded people on both sides of the border have been fighting for over two decades to protect and preserve this iconic location on the US-Mexico border.

Return from Mexico with friends at 4 pm or 9 pm

Qué: Un Festival de eventos y actividades abiertos al público

What?:  A festival of events and activities at the park

Por qué: Un festival para celebrar el potencial del Parque Internacional de la Amistad.  El lado mexicano pone el ejemplo e invita a que el gobierno de EEUU acepte la oferta de amistad!

Why?: A festival that exemplifies community and friendship at our park as an invitation to the US Government to accept the offer of friendship across borders!

12:00 Recorrido por el significado, la historia y los esfuerzos sobre el terreno del parque:

  • La Playa

Qué: Diane Keeling y Katie Santos, miembros de la junta directiva de Friends of Friendship Park, lo invitan a unirse a ellos en el lanzamiento del diseño de un "archivo" de Friends of Friendship Park.

Por qué: una comunidad de personas con ideas afines en ambos lados de la frontera ha estado luchando durante más de dos décadas para proteger y preservar este lugar icónico en la frontera entre Estados Unidos y México.
